Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the cross-functional Simultaneous Engineering (SE) Team for the assigned Interior module throughout the development process.
- Manage the cross-functional development, integration, validation, release, and industrialization of components within the assigned scope.
- Develop and evaluate technical concepts, explore alternative engineering solutions, and assess their technical feasibility and manufacturing plausibility in collaboration with relevant functions.
- Define project objectives and part specifications, including functional requirements, cost, weight, quality, and timing, in alignment with the Module Team Leader and responsible engineering teams.
- Chair regular SE Team meetings, drive technical discussions, coordinate cross-functional activities, and ensure timely decision-making.
- Monitor project maturity, risks, and deviations; coordinate change requests and initiate escalations when required.
- Coordinate problem-solving activities within the Problem Management Process (PMP) and ensure effective and timely resolution of technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with legal, technical, customer-specific, and engineering requirements, including product approvals and applicable standards.
- Foster effective collaboration between SE Teams, integration teams, testing, simulation, manufacturing, and other relevant functions to ensure successful project execution and maximize project synergies.
- Provide clear project status reports and overviews to stakeholders and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive product development, preferably in Interior Systems
- Strong understanding of simultaneous engineering, product development processes, and industrialization
- German – professional working proficiency (project language)
- English – fluent communication skills required for collaboration within international teams
- Strong background in engineering coordination and risk management, combined with excellent communication, solid leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic project environment
- Knowledge of automotive development processes and premium OEM standards
- Experience with concept evaluation, validation, and cross-functional integration activities
