Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Simultaneous Engineering Team for the assigned Interior module throughout the entire development process.
  • Manage the cross-functional development, integration, validation, release, and industrialization of components within the assigned scope.
  • Coordinate engineering activities across multiple disciplines, ensuring alignment on technical requirements, cost, weight, quality, and timing targets.
  • Develop and evaluate technical concepts and alternative engineering solutions, including manufacturing scenarios where applicable.
  • Conduct and lead cross-functional concept feasibility and plausibility assessments.
  • Prepare, maintain, and approve functional and component requirement specifications.
  • Define project objectives, engineering requirements, and activity plans in collaboration with the Module Team Leader.
  • Chair regular SE Team meetings, drive technical discussions, and ensure timely decision-making.
  • Manage change requests, engineering changes, maturity management, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor project status, identify risks and deviations, and escalate critical issues when required.
  • Coordinate problem-solving activities within the Problem Management Process (PMP) and ensure effective resolution of technical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, technical, and customer-specific requirements, including product approvals and engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with testing, simulation, packaging, manufacturing, and other engineering functions to ensure successful project execution.
  • Foster collaboration between SE Teams and integration teams to maximize synergies across projects.
  • Prepare status reports, project overviews, forecasts, and documentation for management and stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement of engineering processes and working methods.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Several years of experience in automotive product development, preferably in Interior Systems
  • Previous experience leading cross-functional engineering teams or technical project teams
  • Strong understanding of simultaneous engineering, product development processes, and industrialization
  • German – professional working proficiency (project language)
  • English – fluent communication skills required for collaboration within international teams
  • Experience managing engineering changes, risk management, and project coordination
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic project environment
  • Knowledge of automotive development processes and premium OEM standards
  • Experience with concept evaluation, validation, and cross-functional integration activities
